Dieting doesn’t work, well not in the general meaning of the term diet where it refers to decreasing calories and / or limiting certain food groups. As a result of limiting calories there is a reduction in the intake of micronutrients (vitamins & minerals) thus affecting the balance within the body and creating nutritional deficiency.
This commonly results in the following:
1. Increased quantity of lipogenic enzymes (fat storing enzyme)
2. Decreased quantity of lipolytic enzymes (fat mobilizing enzyme)
3. Increase size of fat cells
4. Decreased lean muscle mass
5. Decreased base metabolic rate
6. Each diet makes it harder to restore normal basal metabolic rate
Because the female body is in a constant hormonal fluctuation, and is designed to bear children, nutrition is of greater concern for the female client wanting optimal results.

Of major importance is adequate protein consumption. Protein is an essential catalyst in the development of essential neurotransmitters and hormones.
When studying protein deficiency and over training, an important correlation can be seen in that there are several common symptoms:
1. Abnormal energy highs and lows
2. Reduced ability to concentrate
3. Lack of motivation
4. Anti-socialism
5. Poor recovery from exercise
6. Reduced sex drive
